What is Skimboarding?
Skimboarding is a sport similar to surfing and is dated back to the 1920's. In contrast with surfing, skimboarding starts on the shoreline. A skimboarder runs toward the ocean dropping his skimboard on the thin layer of water from the previous wave. Using his speed and momentum, the rider can then ride on the surface of the water, and ride incoming waves back to shore!

Sizing Your Skimboard
Choosing the right size for your skimboard is very important. The size of your board can affect both float and maneuverability. In order to determine which size is right for you, you must take into consideration your weight. We could sit here all day and toss averages at you, but your best bet is visiting your chosen board manufacturers website. Most board manufacturers have charts that will tell you your approximate size. However, keep in mind, sizes do vary from brand to brand.
